Shopify Store Checker

Paste any Shopify store or one of its product links. See what it sells and at what prices, its own best sellers, what it added lately, the apps and ad pixels it runs and how its product page sells, read from the store’s own pages. For the stores whose ads SpotPeaks tracks, you also get the strategy behind those ads.

How the checker reads a store

Every Shopify store publishes a list of its products with prices, pictures and the date each was added, and a collection page that Shopify can sort by the store’s own sales. The checker reads the 250 products it listed most recently, that best-seller order, the store’s sitemap for its full product count, its home page for the apps and ad pixels it loads, one product page (the top best seller, or the one you pasted) for its price, reviews, bundles and guarantee, and the shipping policy for the delivery time it promises.

The store type comes from those facts: one product, a focused range, a wide cheap catalog, premium prices or personalized products. The ad strategy is separate and only appears for stores whose ads SpotPeaks tracks: it reads how many pages advertise the store, how fresh its ads are, how long they run and how their text opens, the same reading as our weekly store teardown.

What the checker reads

  • The product list: every Shopify store publishes its products with prices, “compare at” prices, options and the date each was added. That gives the price range, how much of the catalog is on sale, bundle and personalized products, and what went up lately.
  • The sitemap: the full product count, since the checker reads the 250 products a store listed most recently.
  • The home page: the apps it loads and the ad pixels it carries, which show the platforms it is set up to advertise on.
  • The best-seller order: Shopify sorts a store’s collection page by its own sales when asked. The checker shows the top five.
  • One product page: the top best seller, or the one you pasted. Its price against a crossed-out price, quantity deals, reviews and the review app, a guarantee, the theme and the apps the page loads.
  • The shipping policy and store settings: the delivery time it promises and whether it ships to the US.

Store type, then ad strategy

The store type comes from the store’s own pages: one product, a focused range, a wide cheap catalog, premium prices or personalized products. It says what the store is, not how it advertises.

The ad strategy comes from the ads we have seen, and only for the stores we track. It is the same reading as our weekly store teardown: several Facebook pages for one store, constant testing, old ads that keep running, a deal in every ad, customer-voice or problem-first ads, holiday pushes and more. With fewer than five ads we say we haven’t seen enough.

What it never does

It never estimates sales, revenue or ad spend. Those aren’t public, and a number that looks precise but is a guess is worse than none. Anything a store doesn’t publish is left out.

FAQ

How can I tell if a store uses Shopify?

Paste its address. Every Shopify store publishes a product list and store settings at fixed addresses, and the checker looks for them. If it finds neither, it says so: the site runs on another platform, or the address isn't the store itself.

Can I see a Shopify store's best sellers?

You can see their order. Shopify can sort a store's collection page by its own sales, and the checker shows the top of that list with prices. The sales numbers themselves are private to the store owner, so nobody outside the store can show them honestly.

Can it tell me how much a store sells?

No, and be wary of any tool that claims to. Sales and revenue aren't public. What is public is what the store shows: its products, its prices, how often it adds products, its reviews and, for stores we track, how long it keeps paying for its ads.

Can I see where a store advertises?

You can see which ad pixels its home page loads: Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, Pinterest, Snapchat, Microsoft Ads, Reddit and X. A pixel shows where a store is set up to measure ads, not what it spends. A store can also send that data from its own server, so finding no pixel doesn't prove it runs no ads.

Where does the ad strategy come from?

From the ads SpotPeaks tracks on Meta and TikTok, about 1,800 stores with five or more ads. It reads how many Facebook pages send shoppers to the store, how many of its ads are new, how long its ads run, what it charges and how its ad text opens. It is the same reading as our weekly store teardown.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up. Members also see why the store's strategy works, the steps to use it in their own store and the store's ads and products in Store Intel.

Every store we track, with its ads

Inside SpotPeaks, Store Intel shows each store's ads, how long they run and the products behind them, and a teardown of three stores every week explains how they sell.
